Dazzling's Breakfast
The Dazzlings trio (Adagio, Aria, and Sonata) having breakfast at home the day after they were defeated... maybe not one of their best moments, but certainly fun to paint ;)
As usual, I start with a hand draw sketch to define the image and be sure that the composition looks good
Next step is to add some color in a new layer. Contrary to the popular belief, messy hair is a lot easier to paint than normal hair.
Weird things happens when you combine Illustrator and Photoshop. In this case, I used AI to apply a repetitive pattern on Adagio's vest.
I saw a nice picture of a kitchen on the web and decided to rely on it to create the background.
Most of the table service are Illustrator's props. Also the also the tablecloth is just a repetitive pattern, properly placed
may sound weird, but sometimes the insignificant details consumes a lot more time than the main illustration. I have to spend some time creating several elements on illustrator for this one...
