April O'Neil

Continuing with my self-proclaimed series "Women of the cartoons of the '80s", this occasion is the turn of the iconic April O'Neil, from de '87 TV version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Over time, the turtles have had different incarnations of Abril O'neil: mature, young, teen, brunette, redhead, afroamerican, etc. but for me, the one from 1987 is "the real" April.

Once the initial render in Poser has the desired appearance, I trace over the image a series of guides to define the main areas of the image.

For the background, I did what I call "instant turtle in a minute": I only made a few spots of color on a black background to simulate the presence of Leo behind April.

To give the scene more realism, dirty the truck, so that it looks somewhat worn and damaged, considering that it is not only the main means of transportation for April, but also, her only protection when the Turtles are not around.

Finally, I only added one arm in the foreground. As the central character of the scene is April, I did not consider it necessary to detail the turtles or Shredder further. Only a few hints of his presence are sufficient. The rest speak for itself.
