Girls Day Out

By coincidence, I made this illustration just a couple of days before the International Women's Day, and a few days before Chun Li's birthday. It was made for the Street Figther VS Darkstalkers series, but instead of the usual fighting scene, I decided to represent some of the younger girls in a road trip, away from all figthing worries. They just parked in a shore, and took a selfie to preserve the moment in their memories.

This illustration starts as a hand made sketch, scanned and imported into Photoshop.

After adding the main volume and shadows, i move to BB. That´s partially 'cause I want to keep all lights and shadows under control.

Now it's time to pay attention to back row. Since Lillith and Sakura are partially hidden, this part is resolved quickly.

Do you want to see some magic happening right in front of your eyes? Turn off the line layer and this is what you get in return.

Now is time to add some shadows and volume on the car's body. Other parts such as wheel, spoiler and door must be tuned up to match the rest of the image. I also added a series uf blurred lines as background to simulate a seas shore in the back.

The main reason why I left the hand and the phone for the final part, is 'cause I wanted to give a vintage postal effect to the composition, but with a little twist: some parts stand out from the frame.

And presto! This is how the final image looks like once th final details are added, and the postal in placed on top of a nice background.
